A bush is a full, wide artificial plant without a trunk: all the foliage is low and dense. Fern, fittonia, alocasia, ivy, and boxwood, in sizes from 40 to over 120 cm. They do the work a tree doesn't, namely filling a surface rather than adding height.
Where a bush looks good
On a cabinet, in a windowsill, on a dresser, or on the floor next to a larger tree. Because the foliage extends all the way down, you don't need to hide the pot, and the whole arrangement immediately looks complete. Two or three bushes of different heights next to each other work better than a single one: that reads as a group of plants instead of a single decorative piece.
Artificial shrubs for places without light
A fern is one of the first plants to give up in a dark corner or a bathroom with few windows. Exactly there, an artificial fern will look good, year after year. No brown tips, no leaf drop on the floor, no watering schedule.
Combining with a pot
Most bushes come in a simple inner pot. If you place it on the floor, choose a flowerpot that is slightly wider than the foliage, so the plant doesn't seem to bulge out of it. Our handmade pots from Vietnam come in warm sandy tones that make the green stand out.
