Silk Place

We sell artificial trees, artificial plants, and silk flowers for people who want greenery in their home without the maintenance. Over a hundred products, from a single 40 cm branch to a 260 cm olive tree.

Silk Place was founded in 2025 by Bjorn van Veldhoven, driven by an interest in interior design and artificial greenery.

What we sell: artificial trees, artificial plants, and silk flowers

Our range extends from individual branches and flowers to trees that instantly fill an empty corner. Artificial trees such as the olive tree, blossom tree, ficus lyrata, and bamboo. Artificial plants and artificial shrubs for windowsills, on a cabinet, or next to a sofa.

Silk flowers and branches are sold individually, allowing you to determine the composition yourself instead of relying on a pre-made bouquet. And our vases and plant pots complete the look.

We carry the premium collection from Silk House Europe, our supplier. That's why our assortment is narrow and deep rather than broad: we prefer twenty types in four sizes over two hundred types in one.

Can you tell the difference from a real plant?

That's the question we get most often. Up close, with your hand on a leaf: yes. From two meters away, where people normally stand in a room: rarely. The leaves are layered and come in multiple shades of green, the branches are irregular, and the trunks have grain, just like a grown tree.

And precisely because it's not a living plant, no leaves fall, you never have to water it, and it can stand where nothing else lasts long. Three weeks away changes nothing. Honesty is the selling point here: it's artificial, and that's why it works.

The focus of our assortment is on the bigger pieces: trees and plants from 180 to 260 cm. This is exactly the size where a real plant becomes difficult – expensive to buy, heavy to move, and sensitive to insufficient light.

Handmade plant pots from Vietnam

Our vases and plant pots are handmade in Vietnam, in warm sandy tones with a lightly textured finish. Because each piece is handmade, color and texture vary slightly per item. Two pots next to each other are never exactly alike. This is part of their charm, and it's precisely why a handmade pot makes a tree stand out differently than a thin plastic nursery pot.
